Educational background, school performance, cognitive functioning:

Dorothy attends the local public school and achieves average grades. She is a hard worker when she is interested in a subject, according to her aunt, but has historically been given to periods of daydreaming. These periods have recently increased in frequency and length.

Psychological and emotional functioning:

Dorothy describes herself as “moody” but fun loving and playful. She denies any suicidal thoughts and says she is rarely depressed. She described an instance when she was faced with the removal of her dog as one that depressed her. She finds great comfort in her pet. She exhibited a great deal of excitement (flushed face, increased voice tone, more animation) when describing, in detail, her experiences in Oz.
